Privacy Policy

Effective July 24, 2026

The short version: your data stays on your phone. Unpouched has no accounts, no sign-up, no tracking SDKs, and no servers holding your quit data. We can't sell what we never see.

Who we are

Unpouched ("we", "us") is an iOS app that helps you quit nicotine pouches. This policy describes what the app does — and deliberately doesn't do — with your information. Questions: support@getunpouched.com.

What the app stores — and where

Everything you enter or generate in Unpouched is stored locally on your device, in the app's own database (and a shared container so the home-screen widget can read the same data). That includes:

Your onboarding answers (usage habits, cost baseline, quit reasons, craving windows)
Your taper plan, pouch logs, slips, and craving SOS sessions
Streaks, savings math, and milestone history

None of this is uploaded to us. We do not operate a server that receives your quit data, and there is no account to create.

What we don't do

No tracking or advertising SDKs. The current version of the app contains no third-party analytics, ad networks, or fingerprinting.
No sale or sharing of personal data. Ever. We consider quit-nicotine data sensitive, and the safest data is data that never leaves your phone.
No contact scraping, no location tracking, no background data collection.

If a future version adds privacy-preserving diagnostics (for example, anonymous crash reports), we will update this policy first and describe exactly what is collected.

Notifications

Reminders (danger-window nudges, taper steps, milestones) are local notifications scheduled on your device. They are optional, controlled in the app and iOS Settings, and no notification content passes through our servers.

Purchases

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us no personally identifying billing information. Apple's own privacy policy governs the transaction; manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Health-related estimates

The app shows estimated recovery timelines and projected savings. These are estimates based on published research, generated on-device from your inputs. They are not medical advice and are not shared with anyone.

Your data, your controls

Export: you can export your data as a JSON file from the app's settings, free.
Delete: deleting the app deletes your data. There is no server-side copy to chase down.

Age

Unpouched is rated 17+ and is intended for adults quitting nicotine. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — that's the point.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. Material changes will be called out in the app.
